Training & Behaviour
We are now offering 1-2-1 consultations for your dogs as well as group classes for all abilities. Abby has qualified as a positive reinforcement, force free trainer with the IMDT and is ready to help you with all your training and behavioural queries.
Online classes and 1-2-1s are available if you are located further afield and would struggle to make face to face sessions.
1-2-1 Sessions
Abby can do 1-2-1 sessions, either in your home, out and about or online, depending upon you and your dog’s needs. These are based on an hourly rate, but will last as long as you and your pooch need. Follow up sessions can be arranged if necessary, depending on what you are working on.
All sessions include a follow up email or letter so you have what you have worked on written down for you. Abby is also available via phone, text and email should you need ongoing support.
1-2-1 sessions in dog sports are also available. Abby offers Scentwork and Hoppers from beginner to more advanced levels.

Note. There is an additional fuel charge of £10.00 if over 8 miles from Pocklington. There may be further fuel charges if further away.
Group Classes
Group classes are for a maximum of 8 dogs and are indoors at Rose Thorpe Equestrian Centre near Melbourne. Classes are an hour long and we have different levels and age groups to suit all abilities. The main aim of the classes is to have FUN and build the relationship between owner and dog, whilst learning new skills. Online classes are also available.
Classes are booked in blocks of six weeks (4 weeks for Puppy Classes). Payment is up front for the block to secure your place. You are more than welcome to come and watch a session or two before deciding to book.
Puppy
For dogs under 5 months of age
All of the basic skills needed to set your puppies up with a great start to your lives together. Classes include managed play time.
Junior
For dogs under 1 year of age
Bronze
Classes for dogs under 1 year of age with little formal training. We will work on how to train your young dog, basic cues, doggy manners and life skills as well as an introduction to basic scenting and agility games.
Silver
Classes for dogs under 1 year of age, who have completed Junior Bronze or who have done some training already. We will work on more advanced cues and life skills, linking skills, more scenting and agility and learning how to shape fun tricks and behaviours.Adult
For dogs over 1 year of age
Bronze
Similar to Junior Bronze but for dogs over 1 year of age who have had little training, or need to go back to basics.
Silver
Adding on from Junior Silver, we advance and link basic cues and life skills, have fun with shaping tricks and behaviours, explore scentwork and basic agility.
Gold
For those that have a solid training or relationship base with their owners or have completed the bronze and silver levels, we link skills, work at a distance, challenge scenting and link agility skills and test behaviours in highly distracting environments. For dogs over 8 months of age
Group classes to learn and advance in the fun dog sport of Hoopers. Owners and dogs learn how to put together a series of obstacles into a Hoopers course. Classes for fun or to progress to competition. Brilliant for building your teamwork. Low impact and fun for both dogs and owners.
Scentwork
Any age and ability
A Group Class for learning scentwork skills with your dogs. We teach them to find a certain scent in a range of environments and situations, and tell you they have found it. Great for mental stimulation, teamwork or preparing for competition.
Online Skills and Tricks
Any age and ability
An hour long, live class you can join from the comfort of your own home! Suitable for any age and ability, we build your relationship with fun skills and tricks and build your dogs life skills as well.
